BS-BADM-FNAC - Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Finance

Accounting/Finance/Economics Undergraduate Baccalaureate

Program Long Title

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Finance

Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Finance (BS BADM FNAC) program provides students with the technical and analytical skills needed for careers in corporate financial management and the financial services industry. Students may choose one of two tracks: Corporate Finance or Financial Planning. Students also have the option to pursue professional certifications, such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner). The Financial Planning track provides all the coursework needed to sit for the CFP exam.

Students who major in finance will be prepared for careers in commercial and investment banking, financial management and analysis, financial services, financial advising, portfolio analysis and management, credit, insurance, and risk management, the Federal Government (e.g., Internal Revenue Service, Treasury), or regulatory agencies (e.g., Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency). Graduates with a finance degree have a strong job outlook, with starting and mid-career salaries that are typically among the highest of all majors offered by the university.

The Finance concentration has an opportunity for students to complete an undergraduate and graduate degree in five years with a total of 150 hours: 120 undergraduate and 30 graduate hours where the programs would share six 500-level hours. The combined
program includes increased rigor, when compared to the undergraduate program, while allowing certain classes to overlap between the B.S. and the M.B.A. degrees.
