Exercise Science Admissions Criteria
Students must earn a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the completion of 45 semester hours in order to be eligible to take any 300 or above level courses from the Department of physical Education, Sport and Human Performance. Students are also required to maintain a 2.5 GPA throughout the remainder of the academic career in order to remain an EXSC major.
For Admission into the MS-ATRN the following criteria must be met:
Submit formal application through AT-CAS by February 1.
Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 for all coursework.
Completion the following Coursework with a "C" or better: Human Anatomy or Anatomy & Physiology I w/ lab; Human Physiology or Anatomy & Physiology II w/ lab; General Biology; General Physics, General Chemistry; Human Nutrition; Biomechanics; Exercise Physiology; General Psychology
Current certification in Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers.
Documentation of 75 hours of observation with certified athletic trainers.
Two recommendations from individuals who can verify applicant's aptitude for graduate study.
Non-native English speakers must submit a TOEFL score of at least 550 on the paper-based test or at least 79 on the internet based test, an IELTS score of at least 6, or successful completion of level 112 of the Intensive English for Academic Purposes Program from an English Language School (ELS) center.
Successful completion of an invited interview with the MS-ATRN Selection Committee.
