Free Form Requirements

 The minor in Outdoor Leadership consists of 15 semester hours to include

  • PESH 180 (2) Outdoor Edu:Theory and Practice 

  • OUTL 301 (3) Challenge Course Facilitation

  • OUTL 401 (3) Effect Leadership in Outdoor Education

  • OUTL 351 (3) Field Exp in Outdoor Lead OR

  • BIOL 303 (4) Field Botany OR

  • BIOL 305 (4) General Botany OR

  • BIOL 309 (3) Economic Botany OR

  • ENVS 350 (3) Special Topics in the Environment

    Remaining coursework must include a minimum of three or four credits from the following approved listing:

  • PESH 124 (2) Lifeguard Training

  • PESH 128 (1) Scuba Diving

  • PESH 152 (1) Basic Archery

  • PESH 165 (1) Geocaching

  • PESH 166 (1) Beginning Snow Skiing/Snowboarding

  • PESH 167 (1) Intermediate Snow Skiing or Snow Boarding 

  • PESH 168 (1) Beginning Rock Climbing

  • PESH 169 (1) Intermediate Rock Climbing 

  • PESH 170 (1) Beginning Kayaking

  • PESH 171 (1) Introduction to Moving Water Kayaking 

  • PESH 172 (1) Outdoor Edu: Hiking, Backpack, Rafting

  • PESH 173 (1) Stand Up Paddleboarding 

  • PESH 176 (1) Fly Fishing 

  • PESH 201 (1) First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 


    A student who chooses to complete OUTL 351, BIOL 309, or ENVS 350 will be required to complete four credits from the listed selective courses.  A student who chooses to complete BIOL 303 or BIOL 305 will be required to complete three credits from the listed selective courses.
